Where to start…from the first contact to the wrap up after the wedding reception, Vince and the Gypsy Dolls were fantastic. The organization, responsiveness and professionalism were a huge source of stability throughout the 6 month wedding planning process. Vince was always on top of things and we were always on the same page. He made everything about the planning easier. Music was one thing I never worried about once I hired Vince. He does it all too! You name it, sound, DJ, MC, he basically ran the wedding day and we ran on time and without a hitch. He had it all covered and delivered huge.
Then there was the music. They worked with us on a play list and the dance floor was full from the first number and for the entire time they played. The diversity and the consistent quality of music from the 60’s to today is amazing. When they had to shut down due to the city noise curfew, almost every person still at the reception was on the dance floor chanting for an encore.
I give the Gypsy Dolls my highest recommendation for any event and look forward to seeing them play around town.

The Gypsy Dolls were a huge hit at our event! They listened to our requests and came up with a song list that was exactly what we were hoping for. These talented musicians and vocalists were able to fill a 25,000 square foot ballroom with entertaining music for over 700 people – and that is no easy task! Both Tober and Vince were extremely professional and accommodating during the planning process, and we were very happy with their performance. I would most definitely recommend The Gypsy Dolls to anyone seeking a fun band with an exceptional range of crowd-pleasing music

I realized what a good choice I made working with you, when before the event the staff that heard you warming up said, we have had a lot of bands here, but this is one kick’s ass. In regards to the band, we couldn't have asked for a more professional approach to communication as Gypsy Dolls provided. You were extremely easy to work with. You were open to our suggestions, and catered to specific songs we wanted for certain traditions/dances. You were able to play the best 80’s 90’s and even the top 40. As for the music, it was everything that we wanted. I was glad to see everyone out on the dance flood having a good time, and singing along to the music. The band sounded awesome!! Overall, the band was fabulous and it was such a fun afternoon! Likewise, I hope you guys had a good time and enjoyed the reception! Thank you again for all that you have done to make my wives 40th birthday as memorable as it was. We will definitely refer you to family and friends that are in need of entertainment for future parties!
Best of luck with everything!

I just want to start by saying thanks to the Gypsy Dolls for putting a great performance for our special night. The Gypsy Dolls where professional and worked with us on all the particulars we needed for our wedding. Vince was very professional meeting with us, and working with the wedding coordinator. He even arranged so that we had Jazz guitar during our dinner. For the music there is much I could say except for they had people actually running to get on the dance floor(and these were people that don't run for much). We even had a spontaneous line dance break out! Tober was a great singer and the rest of the band could really play.
Thanks Gypsy Dolls!

We got soooo many compliments on the band. They had people up on the floor from the very beginning. And, they were super nice to work with! they played a really wide range of music. What we loved was that they had the female vocalist (Tober) - she had a nice softness to her voice and a great range - but they also had male vocalists. We're 80's-90's kids, and so are our friends, so it was a perfect fit!

As a Midwesterner planning a Southern California wedding, we began our search for wedding entertainment on the internet. We were intrigued by the audio clips and video clips of the Gypsy Dolls. We hired the band based upon the quality of their live performance on you tube clips as well as their studio recordings. I worked primarily with Vince Portillo, who was always prompt with responses. We also were very pleased that the band was capable of offering between set DJ services and lighting. Months before the wedding, we traveled to California to do some planning and watched the band perform at a local bar. It became evident to my fiancé and I that the Gypsy Dolls were more than an average cover band or wedding band. The band brings multiple competent voices and a high-level of musicianship and energy which allow them to capture a multitude of musical styles. Every member of the band was extremely gracious and friendly. The studio recorded tracks we heard on the website were just as strong live. By the end of the evening, we were ecstatic that the Gypsy Dolls would be playing our wedding.
As our wedding day neared, Vince went out of the way to make sure that all details would be covered. The band learned new songs of our choosing, including a special version of a college fight song. As our reception was outdoors, Vince spoke with the rental companies and caterers to make sure the proper power requirements would be met and that the equipment would ensure a seamless event. Vince even researched and obtained a special microphone which was requested by my father in law.
On our special day, we could not have been happier with the whole band. They were professionally attired and all equipment was set up prior to guest arrival. Vince proved to be a very strong master of ceremonies and adeptly handled wedding party introductions as well as the ceremonial first songs. Vince had an extensive selection of music suitable for cocktails and dinner as well as dancing between the sets. The Gypsy Dolls were in great form. They opened with a Black Eyed Peas song we requested and then mixed up the sets with a diverse selection of songs that pleased the older attendees as well as the twenty something crowd. From "Brown Eyed Girl" to the Fall Out Boy version of "Beat it," the band played something for everyone in attendance. The band was also very flexible as certain formalities of the reception ran long.
Many of my friends who have backgrounds in music remarked that our "wedding band" was the best they had ever seen. While I fully agree, I believe that it is because we did not hire a wedding band. We hired a group of friends who happen to be extremely talented musicians. They do not go through the motions, but instead throw a party! The guitarist played a searing guitar solo on "Heartbreaker" with his teeth! Tober's vocals on "Don't Stop Believing" and "Sweet Child of Mine" gave us chills! If you want background music at your wedding, the Gypsy Dolls are probably not for you. If you want your reception to be a joyous celebration of life and love reflected in music, then you cannot possibly go wrong with the Gypsy Dolls.

Dear Mr. Portillo:
Before summer concludes, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a great performance at the City of Rosemead’s Annual Independence Day Celebration. It was a great tribute to the City of Rosemead’s 50th Anniversary. The Stage entertainment is always the main focus of the day and your performance proved that. It is always great to be able to provide worthwhile programming for the Community, especially for such a majestic and special occasion.
Again, thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Jean Scott

The Gypsy Dolls made our wedding an unforgettable party!! They are SO professional and wanted to make sure they had all the details in place for how Dennis and I envisioned our perfect wedding night. Needless to say- they nailed it!! They know how to keep the flow with the music and get the party started. My husband and I, as well as many other guests, never left the dance floor and we had so many people tell us how fabulous the Gypsy Dolls were. They learned the songs that we requested and they did an excellent job. They handled a special request providing instruments and background music for a performance that we will never be forgotten. We feel very lucky to have had them be a part of our amazing wedding day! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

We hired The Gypsy Dolls for a 40th birthday party after finding them online. They sounded great online, but really, you never quite know what you are going to get. After meeting Vince for a pre-party consultation, we knew it was going to be a great night. All of the band members were very professional and better yet, a lot of fun. We requested 80's and dance music and boy did they deliver. Everybody really had a great time. You know the band is good when you can get fifty or so "middle-aged" people out dancing for three hours. We will be hiring them again next year for the 41st birthday....

We were delighted by the Gypsy Dolls' performance at our son's 21st birthday. The titles they played, their coordination with the entertainers, and most importantly the ambience they created were impeccable. We will definitely repeat!

Hey guys, I wanted to tell you that you guys made our night and our reception a blast. The music you played was exactly who we are and nobody left the dance floor the whole reception. I loved the music selection and the band rocked at covering all the bands. You all kept us and the guests highly entertained with your slick moves and up beat personalities. I couldn't have asked for a better band to play for my special night. We will be calling you guys again to play for future events. Thank you all for making our day so amazing. Thanks again.

My wife and I planned a New Years Eve wedding so the band choice was critical.....it would make or break the party. We chose the Gypsy Dolls and we could not have been happier with the outcome. The band was a huge hit with our guests and the party was a blast! Even our grandparents ended up dancing as the music was contagious to all. The band was very easy to work with and gave us a great selection of songs to choose from to make up their set list. We would highly recommend the Gypsy Dolls to anyone considering hiring a band for a party of any type.......we would hire them again anytime!

Speaking on behalf of the 1987 El Toro High School Reunion Committee, we absolutely recommend The Gypsy Dolls for any party. The Gypsy Dolls performed for our 20th reunion, and tore the house down. Unlike many parties I've been to, where the band, whether intentional or not, serves as background noise, the Gypsy Dolls were nothing of the sort. Every member of the band was talented and knows how to entertain a crowd. Their musical arsenal is wide and varied, and kept us dancing right up to the end of the party. Speaking as the chairman of the reunion committee, it was such a pleasure to work with The Gypsy Dolls. They were in constant contact with me through the night, making sure that our needs were met. Thank you, again for a memorable evening.
